Capita Triathlon 2011

Not content with his participation in the Rob Roy Raid, Ciaran Dougherty will also be competing in the Capita Triathlon in Llandudno, North Wales on July 17th.

With running and cycling miles in  his legs he will be adding some water to the mix with a 1500m swim which precedes a 38km Bike and 10km run. These will be taken on in a relay style format by some of Brodies finest with David Hennessy (Insurance & Risk) and Andrew Forsyth (Insurance & Risk) completing the team.

The team are already in training and taking advantage of Scotland’s fickle spring weather to swim, cycle and run outside without going near the sea or swimming pool- it has been quite wet!

The team will be linking up with fellow competitors from several client and partner organisations- if you are attending or competing then please get in touch. Ciaran and the team would be delighted to meet up and talk transition tactics, how to tackle a triathlon without becoming a personal injury statistic and much more.

Brodies Rob Roy Raid

The Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge takes place on the 18th of June this year, covering a 55 mile route from Drymen in Scotland’s West Coast to Kenmore in Perthshire. Covering the first 15 miles on foot and the remainder on two wheels, the route takes in the best of the Trossachs, an area home to the legend of Rob Roy, often seen as Scotland’s Robin Hood.

Brodies are proud to support 4 of our fittest solicitors in this charitable feat of endurance. Ciaran Dougherty (personal injury) Alisdair Matheson (Insurance & Risk) Julie Doncaster (Private Client) and Gillian Mair (Employment) will be leading the charge and doing their bit for charity.

The challenge raises funds for several charities, including Sightsavers, NSPCC and Alzheimer Scotland. Around 750 people take part in the event which takes in some of Scotland’s best Highland scenery which obviously means one thing for the competitors- hills! If you’d like to support the team in fundraising for these very worthy charities then perhaps you could click on assist in sponsoring them: click here
